Hello.. I’m more than glad you have clicked on this page.  On this page you will find out who we are here at Melonpopzdropz.  Further down the page  nearer the bottom is some awards, what they are about and why I was given these.

Take a gander  or a look at my Rhymes tab at the top.  This was the main focus of this blog to begin with.    “Historia est Magistra Vitae”  is the fledgling of my autobiography.

These days I love taking part in the Weekly Photo Challenge.  This blog keeps changing and morphing.  Guess that is the fun part about it.  I have had a few different styles since starting and finally I have settled on the no frills Black and White.

So welcome to the place where I write “stuff”.  I write about my opinions,  things that interest me and I write a lot of poetry.  It isn’ that great and it isn’t in perfect pentameter but its mine  and in here on the blog is the place to keep it organized.

I can now write and photograph and finally I have somewhere to put it all.  I love it.  Post Script a year and a half later from my humble beginnings,  I am addicted to blogging!  I have a few Blogspot blogs as well.  Totally addicted.

 …WHO   AM   I … I am a Gemini,  I write a lot,  I can talk a lot too.

Sometimes even I’m not sure of this.   I must be careful not to be too flippant here in regards to who I am,  as my comical flippancy has been totally misconstrued on other occasions in the past and I am damaged from this.

I still do desire to do “Stand Up Comedy”.   Perhaps one day I will eventually get the gutz.  I found the COMEDY SCHOOL in Sydney.  Hell I didn’t know such a thing existed.

I’m M.E.B  which has now morphed to M.E.P – these being my initials.  I am EMEE to some and Mezza to others.  I used the twitter handle of EMINPEE because that too is my initials but like Eminem.   I am Mary-Ellen or  just Mary.  My son use to say I was a Melon / Mary+ Ellen = Melon

I have received a few awards during my short blogging life.  I think I will put them here to display them and their giver. Putting them in a widget sometimes tricks me and today it is tricking me.  These are not in order but they are dated.

The Very Inspiring Blogger Award was given to me by Sunshine.
I wrote my post of thanks and gratitude here on September 18th 2o12

AN AWARD FOR ME – Wow someone actually cared.  I was so blown away by this.

This Very Inspiring Blogger Award is  for those bloggers who inspire us in our blogging and in our everyday life because of what we have read, seen and discussed.  Simple.

25th SEPTEMBER 2011

The Liebster Blog Award.   Was given to me by Nellibell49
This was my very first award,  way back when I had no idea what to do with them and how to put them up on my page.  One of my jobs is to go back and amend some of my early mistakes.  Putting my awards here for a start certainly helps.  Notice the date this one went up.  After the next award.  We had learned some more by then and put them up.

The Liebster Blog Award: This award originated in Germany a while ago and his original name was “Liebster Blog Award” which is German for “An award for the blog I like the most or Dearest”  It is thought to have originated in 2009-2010 and it was for blogs with less than 3000 followers.”  The person awarded this blog award must tell 5 things about himself /herself that their readers may not know.
Finding the origin of this Blog Award was not easy.  It appears these people have something to do with this but I will have to investigate further on this

The Versatile Blogger Award. This was a surprise to me from Lynne    I was so stoked indeed.
versatile blogger

The Versatile Blogger Award is an award passed from blogger to blogger. As with any award, there are responsibilities that go with it.  This award not only increases your blog’s visibility in the blogging world, but it is a way to expose a little about the blogger behind the blog (in this case, me).  Finally, as the Awardee, one gets to share with her/his readers who  their favorite bloggers and writers are.

I was born Mary-Ellen Peters in 1959.   I am a mother who I birthed three children. They are all still alive so I must have been a reasonable parent .  Parenting isn’t an easy feat.   Personally, I grew up in a harsh emotional and physical circumstance and because of this I was alienated from people and I  was not allowed friends.  I’m sure this affected me greatly.   Not a great memory.  I wanted my children to never ever feel the things I felt as a child growing up.

Being separated from my family from just after birth has been a journey that I will document separately on the page found above HISTORIE EST MAGISTRA VITAE  –  History is life’s teacher.

These days I am a survivor! I divorced my kids dad after 28 years of trying. Pulling the pin on  that was no cake walk.  All of those years devoted to a family who were my  world.   One of my daughters, is Montana-Star, she is the youngest and the most understanding and she loves me dearly.  I am so proud of all of my children.  They are all great people.  The older two have good relationships and live in with their partners.  Montana is still at High School.  This is her singing below:

Thanks to Sam Vallins and Right Side View Media …. Sam you deserve a mention here.  Amazing production is all I can say about it.

On Radio
Yessum I have a radio show.

I am Dj Mezza..  or Mumma Dj  as Jake from South Australia loves to call me.  I like that name too.

I was Melonpop but I changed it.  Now the name of the show is just “Melonpop Drive”.  I do this each Friday at 4pm for two hours each week.  I would love to do so much more but now distance precludes me the majority of times!

Click this link 2bbb to go to the  radio station and the live streaming 24/7 online.
So you might think that “Melonpop” is a Strange name.  Remember it is Mary + Ellen = Melon + Popular music = Melonpop

I had the nick name “CINDY” for twenty five years.   It was a little more sinister than just an ordinary nick name.

About Cindy..

Hearts and roses

I was abandoned as a four month old baby. This is how life can deal you a low blow. I was left on my mother’s bed after she bathed and dressed me and put me in a pretty dress.  I don’t hold it against her so don’t you either! I was then given to my grand mother’s sister who reared me until I was 12 years.  This was the fault of the government at the time.
This great aunt never liked my mother. She refused to call me the name that I was named at birth, the name my mother gave me – Mary-Ellen. Instead, she opted to call me Cindy after the faerie story Cinderella.  I woke up each night inconsolable for years at midnight each night as a small child.  This is where it all begun. I was being called Cinderella, it was shortened to just “CINDY”.  It never felt quite right.  Funny thing is I didn’t know that it wasn’t.
In the interpretation by Marianne Williamson of the fairy tale, “Cinderella”, She speaks of that bitter moment where Cinderella is literally standing in rags, left in the dust, mocked by her antagonists; her dreams of champagne bubbles and delightfully dizzying waltzes dashed.
Marianne describes “my life”.  My fate became like the end of those dances and the dizzying waltzes and I was dashed into the very hard wall of Edith’s concrete ways, immovable and unchanging no matter what. I lost all contact with the mother I craved.  Instead I was fed years of lies about her.  That is very sad.

Before long my own father the few times I saw him was also calling me Cindy!  I never knew a thing. I didn’t know I was Mary-Ellen.

My first inkling of this was in High School, I was shocked to find out I had this name!  I knew my mothers name was ELLEN but I didn’t even know my own name.  Sadly I found out when I was placed in the Care of the Department at 12 and Edith told them I was known as CINDY!  I even ended up with two Tax File Numbers because of it.  My ex husband has CINDY tattooed on his arm, my children and others always asked who is “Cindy”, typical he would say, ” My old girlfriend”.  No one really knew it was me!

When I was 25 years old, I read somewhere in a published work that one must vibrate to the correct number where numerology is concerned.  Your number is derived from your name your called!  I wasn’t called my correct name and right there and then I decided I would change it from “CINDY” to “MARY -ELLEN”.  My mothers name was Ellen and my Grandmothers name was Mary.  I was named after these woman and this was the reason my great aunt would not say my  name!  I have another fun Nickname.. Mother MARY.. My fathers sister was called Mary!  Some fun people call me “MISS MARY” ~ I love that as well,  none so sinister as the first.

Mum                    Ellen Katherine Fraser (Peters;  mother     Mary Baguley  (Nee Bradbury)
