Weekly Photo Challenge: Windows..

Windows..

Reflections of the heads

This weeks Photo Challenge brings with it the many meanings that “windows” sums up.  For me I thought I would try to start off with a couple of stock standard window images I have taken lately then I may try to bring you some of the less contemporary images that sum up Windows for me.

This image I have submitted here is one of a window that is not far from my house, I stopped past it the other day and loved the reflection of the Urunga footbridge out to the beach that I could see in the reflection as I started to pass by it.  I quickly grabbed my trusty camera and this was unplanned for any use in the challenge.  It was just a great window at the time.  I am more than pleased to share this image with you all and I hope you enjoy my reflection in the window.

The word window originates from the Old Norse ‘vindauga’, from ‘vindr – wind’ and ‘auga – eye’, i.e. “wind eye”. from Wikipedia.  Primitive windows were just holes in the wall.
The eyes are also said to be the windows to the soul.  I may explore this area.
Windows –  Windows 1.0 is a 16-bit graphical operating environment, developed by Microsoft and released on 20 November 1985.[2] It was Microsoft’s first attempt to implement a multi-tasking graphical user interface-based operating environment on the PC platform. Windows 1.0 was the first version of Windows launched. It was succeeded by Windows 2.0 and support was discontinued on 31 December 2001.
